It’s great to know how to simulate a mechanical part… but if you can’t read the results you need, that’s also useless…
That’s where post-processing comes into play.
Salome-Meca uses a module called “Paravis” to display the results and it is not necessarily very straightforward to understand how it works…
That’s why I made a new video tutorial about it ;-)
It will explain to you:
- How to get the results you need out of your model
- How to open your results in Paravis
- How to check different kind of results (stresses)
- How to check the value at a node or on an element
I hope you like the video
There’s still plenty of topics to talk about and this will come soon on the blog.
If you have some ideas… leave a comment and let me know :-)

I believe that deformed shape is in a Filters -> Common -> Warp by Vector. But I’ve were able to use it for solid plate only. For shell like quarter plate that option is greyed out.

Hi. I have 6 Cauchy stresses from a node in Paraview. How do I know what order are they in? first 3 are probably x,y and z. What about the order of shear stresses? I am confused. Thanks.
